Diving in IbizaSurrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, the island of Ibiza is ideal for diving. The cliffs, rocks and small islands in front of the coast offer not only a spectacular view, but also over 150 dive sites catering for all levels. Each dive has got its own characteristics, its own attraction, but all of them have something in common: they are always interesting and special. The visibility, always over 20 metres, enables us to appreciate the marine life with all its colours. There are caves, underwater cliffs, rocky and coraligeous bottoms. In the cracks and cavities, on the cliff walls, coloured by sponges and gorgonias, anemones or algae, we find moray and conger eels, lobsters, octopus and groupers. Surrounding us amidst the deep blue of the sea, schools of small and big fish like barracuda, gilthead, bream, mullet. It's totally different, fascinating. The water tempertature ranges from 26oC- 28oC in August to 13oC-14oC in February.

La Catedral :It's a huge cave with an easy, safe and comfortable access. It has a rocky bottom, and the blue exit is always in sight. There is a huge dome, with an air chamber, where we can remove our mask and regulator. At the back of "the cathedral" is another small cave ("the chapel"), which is completely dark. To go into this one, you need a bit more training. Cap Llibrell : It's an islet almost touching the coast, where we can started our dive at 4 or 5 metres. Then we can slowly go down an underwater cliff and reach a depth of 27 meters. Islas Llados : Llado Norte (the north island) offers and impressive landscape. Llado Sur is a real museum of the Mediterranean. In both of them we find Roman rests of amphorae and plenty of fauna. El Caballo :(The horse). Underwater reef at a depth of 7 to 9 metres. On both sides of it we find walls going down to 25 - 30 metres. Losa de Santa Eulalia : The west side of this reef goes down to 15 metres over a huge Posidonia prairies. The east side (open sea), offers a cliff going down to over 28 metres with an abundance of colours, caves and rugged rock faces that are home to both conger and moray eels. Isla de Sta. Eulalia : Around this island, the sandy bottom is covered by Posidonia. This site doesn´t usually offer large groupers or toothed breams but we find huge schools of smaller fish. There aren´t dramatic cliffs, cracks or caves, but beautiful rock formations with lots of colours and vegetation, which make this dive extremely enjoyable, both for beginners and qualified divers. Isla de Margaritas : This is a strange north facing dive site, close to impressive cliffs. The bottom ranges from a depth of 10 to 30 metres and is virtually untouched by the sun which makes for plenty of life and a spectacular sight. (Sometimes current). Islote Pallaret: Undoubtedly one of our favourite dive sites. Here it is possible to see the larger fish of the Ibicencan waters, groupers, toothed bream, barracuda, giltheads, sticklebacks and also conger and moray eels. This site exemplifies the potential of these waters if they received more protection. Isla Conejera : This island offers plenty of different sites for all levels of divers. There are caves and some Roman artefacts that take us back some 20 centuries ! The walls here make it possible to dive to 40 metres and beyond ! Isla Espartá : This island offers many possibilities. Starting the descent from 5 metres we can follow the wall to below 40 metres. Before this depth we reach a rocky formation with an abundance of life, groupers, octopus, eels, bream etc. Islas Bledas : This group of rocks and islands can be found 7 miles off the coast towards the west of the Ibiza. Because of their situation so far away from human life there is an abundance of marine life, for example gorgonia covered sea bottoms at around 30 - 35 metres. Isla Es Vedrá : This incredibly impressive rock rises some 380 metres above sea level as if from nowhere and falls to a depth of 80 metres.
